Regional Career Pathways

New North supports connecting students to employers, career mentors and career planning tools through The Wisconsin Regional Career Pathways (RCP) initiative. The RCP approach is a statewide effort to deliver high-quality career pathways in high schools that reflect the needs and vision of individual regions.

Led by a regional coalition of representatives from CESA 5, CESA 6, CESA 7, CESA 8 and New North, a non-profit economic development corporation, the New North RCP Consortium brings together employers, education, and economic and workforce development to adopt, implement, promote, and monitor high school career pathways in high-skill, in-demand industry sectors.

New North, through the regional career pathway grant, provides access to the Xello platform, a web-based career preparation and readiness platform for all schools in the region. By integrating career development tools, social media elements and workforce data into a seamless system, job creators, students, educators and parents can connect efficiently and effectively.

Regional businesses are encouraged to establish profiles on the Xello platform and leverage additional resources for connecting with the K12 talent pipeline.

Working together to support schools and school districts throughout 18 counties in Northeastern Wisconsin, the New North Career Pathways collaboratively provides means for students to participate in regional pathway.  Students can explore career opportunities in one of the following pathways:

The New North region is also home to the Inspire Wisconsin Network, a collaborative of employers and schools working to provide all students in Wisconsin with meaningful career-based learning experiences. Inspire New North is a key resource to help bridge the career exploration done by students to opportunities with regional businesses.

Employers can connect with the next generation of talent through:

  • Company profiles and connected careers on the Xello platform
  • Educator and student interactions such as company tours, job shadows, guest speaking experiences and many other career focused activities
  • Work Based Learning Opportunities
