The New North offers many reasons and benefits for veterans to relocate to the region and is one of the best places to live and work after military service – low cost of living, quality healthcare, fast commute times and unparalleled outdoor recreation just to name a few.

New North Regional Veteran Resources

    • CVSO (County Veteran Service Officer) – Contact your CVSO to find out if you or your family are qualified for local, state and federal Veterans’ benefits. CVSOs work with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs and other Veterans Service Organizations to make sure you get all the Veteran benefits you are eligible for. To locate your CVSO, please call 1-844-947-2876.
    • American Legion – American Legion Wisconsin are committed to the enhancement of the lives of our Veterans and their families, inspiring the next generation of Wisconsin leaders, and promoting the principles of The Legion in every community across the Badger State.
    • VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) – The VFW advocates for veterans’ rights and improving their quality of life as well as helping fund various memorials and are a source of over $3 million in college scholarships and savings bonds to students every year.
    • Dogs to Dog Tags (D2DT) – pairs rescue dogs with veterans facing PTSD and other mental health challenges—at no cost to the veteran. These trained companions offer comfort, connection, and a powerful step toward healing. If you’re a veteran in need of support, D2DT is here for you.

New North, Inc. collaborates with Mission Wisconsin, an organization dedicated to helping Wisconsin employers connect with transitioning service members, family members and veterans. A supporter of Mission Wisconsin from its start, New North recognized the unique talent and skill sets that military veterans could bring to our region. Since its inception in 2020, New North Hires Heroes has helped more than 81 service members transition to new jobs and communities in Northeast Wisconsin.
