Ryan Long is the Research Director at New North Inc., the regional marketing and economic development organization for the 18 counties of Northeast Wisconsin. He has held the position since October 2021.
In his role, Ryan is engaged in research related to business development activities in the 18-county region. He is also involved with updating and enhancing New North’s IntelTracker, which he originally helped develop in 2020.
Ryan is also a Regional Economist for the Office of Economic Advisors (OEA), a team of labor market analysts, economic researchers, and projectionists housed in the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. OEA analyzes and interprets labor force and economic data to help stakeholders understand the effects of statewide employment trends. Ryan has been serving Northeast Wisconsin in this role since September 2017.
Ryan received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Northern Illinois University in 2017. He is a native of Machesney Park, Illinois.
