Culture and Diverse Experiences

many opportunities, one region

ethnic heritage • affinity groups • welcoming & inclusive • cultural pride • corporate diversity programs • cultural events • increasing diversification • supporting learning and involvement

Business and organizational leaders throughout the New North are uniting - driving efforts to promote diversity initiatives and the recruitment and retainment of a diverse workforce.  Many individual corporations demonstrate their diversity values by implementing employee policies that encourage and nurture an open and inviting workplace.

New North leaders recognize that a vibrant and creative workforce will enable the region to continue to grow and prosper.  Regional leaders are driving change and many support and promote diverse cultures through annual diversity awards offered by both small and large businesses.  Many others participate and provide corporate mentorship programs and professional women-in-leadership groups.  Community outreach is highly present in New North firms, generating excitement through college diversity centers, speaking series, cultural celebrations and festivals, and elementary school foreign language programs.
