New inclusion and diversity publication available for company use
Produced by New North in partnership with Fox Valley SHRM chapter, intended as resource
NEW NORTH, June 16, 2020 – New North Inc., in partnership with the Fox Valley Society for Human Resources Management (FVSHRM), has produced a publication intended to be a resource for companies in the region that understand the importance of inclusion and diversity. Titled Better than Before: Inclusion and Diversity in Northeast Wisconsin, it highlights best practices of New North companies that prioritize diversity and inclusion.
The new publication is available in electronic form at https://www.thenewnorth.com/talent/diversityand-inclusion/diversity-resource-guides/. Companies are encouraged to share it internally, along with on their website and hiring platforms.
“Diversity is crucial to economic development and building our region,” says Barb LaMue, president and CEO of New North Inc. “The goal of this publication is to promote strategies that leverage every person’s assets and foster an environment where everyone achieves his or her potential. We also hope that it demonstrates to talent why the New North region is worth considering as a great place to live and work. We thank the Fox Valley SHRM chapter for this impactful partnership.”
Those interested in hard copies of the 20-page, Better than Before: Inclusion and Diversity in Northeast Wisconsin publication can contact Nykki Milhaupt of CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen LLP) and president of the Fox Valley Society for Human Resources Management at [email protected].
“A number of New North companies are far along in their diversity and inclusion journey. We share their best practices in this publication to serve as a resource for those companies just getting started with their diversity and inclusion efforts,” says Milhaupt. “We hope to continue to move the needle on inclusion and diversity in Northeast Wisconsin by telling the success stories of our region, both on a personal level and company efforts like employee resource groups and unconscious bias training originated at the senior leadership level.”
FVSHRM is one of roughly 19 chapters of local human resources professionals within the state of Wisconsin. With 400-plus members, it focuses on professional and leadership development. More information on the organization can be found at www.fvshrm.org.
