Downtowns

Thanks to support from state programs such as the Main Street and Connect Communities programs, we partner with WEDC to make sure our downtown business districts continue to be vibrant and engaging places to live, work and play. As the heart and soul of our communities, these districts provide a diverse mix of local businesses, quality restaurants, residential properties, entertainment venues, art galleries and public services. Many downtown events draw visitors from throughout our region due to the easy access for all.

The New North region is home to 17 Connect Communities and 9 Main Street Communities.  These are special designations coming from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation after the communities have successfully been granted this status off of their applications.
